How to Select Multiple Objects
In the FEA Editor environment, you may want to select multiple objects (i.e., parts,
surfaces or vertices) in order to specify constraints, loads, element
information, material information or other finite element data. You can
conveniently select multiple objects by using the <Ctrl> key.
Once you have selected one object, you can then press and hold the
<Ctrl> key and select another object to add it to the current selection
set. Any selection shape (i.e., point, rectangle, circle or polyline) can be used with
the <Ctrl> key.
For example, the figures below show how to select multiple surfaces of a
bearing assembly model in order to apply a pressure load.

 |
| Figure 1: In the FEA Editor
environment,
after using the "Selection:Shape:Point" command sequence to
specify point select mode and "Selection:Select:Surfaces" to
specify surface select mode, a mouse click is used to select one of the
surfaces. |
Figure 2: While pressing and holding the <Ctrl> key, a
second mouse click adds another surface to the selection set. |

Figure 3: Right clicking anywhere in the
working area accesses a pop-up menu of options for the selected objects.
The option for adding surface loads is used to specify a pressure load
for both selected surfaces. |
Thus, the FEA Editor environment's capability to select multiple objects
with the <Ctrl> key provides convenience and flexibility, which helps you to quickly and
easily specify model data. The <Ctrl> key also enables you to select
multiple objects in the CAD Solid Model and Superview IV environments.
