ALGOR's easy-to-use, single user interface, FEMPRO®, provides the
capability to realistically visualize
spring/truss,
2-D axisymmetric and planar,
beam and
plate/shell
elements in the Results environment.
You can display 3-D spring/truss, axisymmetric/planar, beam or plate/shell geometry to help create presentations that are more realistic, vivid and intuitive.

3-D visualization of spring and truss elements -
For analysis purposes, a spring is modeled using a line element;
however, for presentation purposes, you might want to display the spring more realistically to show the coils, wire diameter and attachment types and locations.
You can create realistic visualizations for both spring (linear structural and dynamic analysis) and
truss (nonlinear structural analysis and Mechanical Event Simulation) elements in the Results environment of FEMPRO.
For more information, see How to Visualize Springs.

3-D visualization of 2-D axisymmetric and planar elements -
2-D elements can be displayed as 3-D in the Results environment, making
axisymmetric models look like solids revolved about the Z axis
and planar models show the thickness.
Right-click on the part in the tree view and choose "3-D Visualization". The 2-D
mesh and results will be shown in their 3-D form. Shown here is a 3-D
visualization (in the display window on the left) of a 2-D axisymmetric model
(on the right).

3-D visualization of beam elements -
For analysis purposes, a beam is modeled as a line element;
however, for presentation purposes, you might want to display the beam more realistically to show the
three-dimensional (3-D) cross section (e.g., an I-beam, C-section, etc.).
You can create realistic beam visualizations in the Results environment of FEMPRO.
For more information, see How to Visualize Beams.

3-D visualization of plate and shell elements -
For analysis purposes, a plate or shell is modeled with no thickness
(i.e., the thickness of a line); however, for presentation purposes, you
might want to display the plate or shell more realistically to show the
thickness. You can create realistic plate/shell visualizations in the Results environment of FEMPRO.
In the image shown here, the varying thicknesses of plate elements are
displayed for the red and blue gussets at the base of a rectangular
pole.
