NASA Tech Briefs Selects ALGOR V20 as Product of the Year Finalist
ALGOR, Inc., a leading provider of
design, analysis and simulation software, announced that
its finite element analysis (FEA) software, ALGOR V20, has been selected by the editors of NASA Tech Briefs (NTB) magazine
(an official publication of the U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration [NASA] that features exclusive reports
of innovations developed by NASA and its industry partners/contractors) as a finalist for the Readers' Choice Product of the Year award.
The magazine's 190,000 design engineering readers can vote for the most significant new product introduced to
the engineering community in 2007, and the product receiving the most votes will be named the winner at a special awards dinner.
ALGOR V20 is a candidate for the annual award because, in June 2007,
it was chosen by NTB editors as the magazine's Product of the Month (see
"NASA Tech Briefs Names ALGOR V20 as Product of the Month")
in recognition of "exceptional technical merit and practical value" and "uniqueness and importance to design engineers",
according to Linda L. Bell, NTB's Editorial Director.
Currently, the 12 Products of the Month are listed on a ballot on the NTB web site
(http://techbriefs.com/poy/)
where visitors can cast a vote for the Product of the Year through January 25, 2008.
"It's an honor to be nominated for such a prestigious award," said ALGOR Product Manager Bob Williams.
"Being cited by NASA Tech Briefs as a Product of the Year finalist confirms that our software is widely accepted
by engineers for many reasons including that our software development process continues to be driven by
customer requests for new and improved capabilities like those of ALGOR V20 as well as our current software release, ALGOR V21."
