Automatic mesh refinement around features is now available to provide intelligent, feature-based meshing within FEMPRO's CAD Solid Model environment. 

This new feature automatically calculates the number and location of refinement points based on the size of the CAD geometric features. Users can pre-define a refinement level with a sliding scale and the mesh engines will then automatically create a finer mesh around smaller features and a coarser mesh for the rest of the model. 

To refine an FEA mesh using this new feature: 

• select "Refinement Points: Automatic..." from the "Mesh" pull-down menu; 
• select the desired level of refinement using the sliding "Refinement" scale;
• click "Generate" to create mesh refinement points based on the size and location of the model's features;
• visually verify that the refinement points, which immediately appear on the model, have been created on the features about which you are concerned and repeat the previous two steps if necessary; and 
• generate a mesh.
